The volleyball team of Swietelsky Bekescsaba started the season in Hungary with a trophy. They won the Fatum Cup after defeating hosts Fatum Nyiregyhaza by 3-2 (22:25, 25:11, 25:17, 12:25, 15:11) in the final of the competition played in the local “Continental Arena”.
Bulgarian volleyball player Ralitsa Vasileva was the most valuable player (MVP) in the match, scoring 19 points. Her teammate Marta Drpa added 13 points.
The third place in the Fatum Cup was won by the Slovenian Nova KBM Branik (Maribor), who beat UTE Budapest by 3-0 (25:21, 25:17, 25:14).
In the semifinals, Swietelsky Bekescsaba beat the Slovenians by 3-0 (25:16, 25:19, 25:22) and Ralitsa Vasileva was again the top scorer – with 17 points, while Fatum Nyiregyhaza defeated UTE Budapest with 3-0 (25:17, 25:17, 25:16).
Swietelsky Bekescsaba and Fatum Nyiregyhaza will play again a friendly match on Friday.
