The ensemble of Bulgaria triumphed with the title in the final of three ribbons and two balls at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Sofia. Coach Vesela Dimitrova’s girls quickly managed to recover from the eighth place in five hoops and played their composition brilliantly. Zhenina Trashlieva, Rachel Stoyanov, Sofia Ivanova, Margarita Vasileva, Kamelia Petrova and Radina Tomova received a total score of 33,300 points, of which 16,500 for difficulty, 8,600 for artistry and 8,200 for performance.
The Italian ensemble ranked second with 31.450 points, and the bronze went to the Azerbaijan team with 30.750 points.
This is the second gold for the Bulgarian ensemble at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Sofia after the all-around title on Friday. The team, which also won a quota for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, is a debutante at a forum of such rank, and this was also the first competition of this composition in front of a home audience.
