Gaby Lopez won Dana Open for a third LPGA victory after birdies in the last three holes. Megan Khang (USA) was second with -17 and Masson Caroline (Germany) was third with -16.
Gaby Lopez was well back after 36 holes. Still, she started the final round in 11th place and knew she needed to make an early run with the leaders playing well behind her. She quickly made birdies on No 3 and 4, then made another on the par-5 seventh hole to make her presence known. Gaby Lopez tied her career-low 18-hole score to finish at -18 overall and earn her third career LPGA Tour title.
“That’s when the mind gets really, really interesting. When you see yourself a little bit where you want to be and you see yourself ahead, it doesn’t come as a surprise as much probably”, said Gaby Lopez after the victory. “So, yeah, the power of the mind is pretty much everything in this game”, added she.
It’s her first victory since the 2020 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
