Five-time world 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was defeated in her crowning event at the Diamond League in Brussels last night. The Jamaican athlete was beaten by compatriot Shericka Jackson, the 200m world champion, by 10.73s vs 10.74s. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce questioned her appearances for the remainder of the season.
“I feel good about the race, it wasn’t anything spectacular but I felt good, I don’t have an injury so that’s the most important part. Not sure about Zurich, I’ll have to wait and listen to my body. But today was really amazing, I love running in Brussels”, said Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce after her second place in Brussels.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals from the Olympic Games, as well as 14 medals from World Athletics Championships.
“It takes a lot of hard work to beat Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. So you have to keep working hard if you want to win. I performed well tonight, so I’m happy”, added Shericka Jackson.
