Japanese Yui Ohashi made a double at the Tokyo Olympics after winning the women’s 200m final. Yui Ohashi brought the first gold to the hosts of the Games with her triumph of 400m combined three days ago, and now she was again above all and won the 200m with a time of 2:08.52 minutes.
Yui Ohashi started slowly and touched the fifth wall after the butterfly. American Alex Walsh led after the 150 m, but at the last length in the freestyle Yui Ohashi caught up and managed to finish first.
Alex Walsh was left with the silver with 2:08.65, and the bronze medal went to another American – Kate Douglass with 2:09.04.
Iron Lady Katinka Hosszu, a world record holder and Olympic champion from Rio, was only seventh in the final with 2:12.38 minutes.
