The Czech teenager Linda Fruhvirtova did her best but failed against 9th-seeded Garbine Muguruza and left the US Open 2022 after a fantastic match. At 4:1 for the Czech player, Garbine Muguruza made terrible mistakes at her serve and the result was 0:40, giving three break points to Linda Fruhvirtova. However, the Spanish player benefited from her experience and finally won her serve game to make the result 4:2. This was a turning point in the gameplay of Linda Fruhvirtova, who finally lost the set by 4:6.

Thus, Garbine Muguruza continue to the next round, where will face Petra Kvitova, who qualified for the next round after a walkover of Anhelina Kalinina.
