Three-time European athletics champion from Munich 2022 and world silver medalist in the 400m hurdles from Eugene 2022, Femke Bol, recorded her next win of the season. The young athlete from the Netherlands won her crowning event at the Diamond League in Lausanne with 52.95 sec. Femke Bol thus improved her own tournament record (53.05 sec), which she set last year.
The second place in the 400m hurdles in Lausanne was taken by the Jamaican Janieve Russell with 53.92 sec, and third came another representative of the Caribbean country – Andrenette Knight with 54.33 sec.
“It’s incredible to break a record here and run 52 sec again, especially in this beautiful city. The first 200m felt easy and I was not very close to the obstacles. The second part is my better one this year. I’m getting tired. I was less tired than I expected. In recent days I have been spending 11 hours a day in bed. I am happy that I will have a few days rest before my last race of the season in Zurich”, said Femke Bol after the victory.
