Caroline Garcia won the title at the WTA 1000 Western & Southern Open after defeating Petra Kvitova by 2-0 (6:2, 6:4) in the final. The 28-year-old French tennis player started from the qualifiers, but recorded eight consecutive victories and deserved the trophy. It is her third overall title from the WTA 1000 category and guarantees her a return to the Top 20 of the world’s ranking.
Today’s final lasted 96 minutes, and Caroline Garcia showed confidence by saving all 8 break points her opponent reached. The French tennis player was again solid on serve with 11 aces. She already has three titles this season, and each of them was won on a different surface.

Petra Kvitova had her chances in the match but did not capitalize on them. The Czech tennis player must regret that in both sets she conceded early breaks, after which it was difficult to oppose the confident game of Caroline Garcia.
