For China, this is the second title after Daegu 2011, when Li Yanfeng won. In Eugene, the Chinese also won gold in the men’s long jump and expect more honors in sport walking.
The Doha 2019 world champion Yaime Perez (Cuba) finished seventh in that final with 63.07m.
Champion Feng Bin was eighth at London 2017, fifth at Doha 2019, and won the title in her third final in the event.
