Tessa Worley won the giant slalom in Lenzerheide, Switzerland

The two-time world champion Tessa Worley won the giant slalom at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. The 32-year-old Tessa Worley recorded a total time of 2:02.35 minutes. She was third after the first run with 1:01.27 and gave a second time in the second – 1:01.08 minutes.

For the French World Cup alpine ski racer, who is a world champion from 2013 and 2017, this is the 16th victory in her career and the second for the season. All her successes are only in this discipline.

Olympic runner-up Federica Brignone from Italy finished second at 0.29 sec, and third was Sara Hector from Sweden on 0.31 sec from the leader.

American ski star Mikaela Shiffrin was second after the first run, but remained only 14th in the second round and finished fourth in the final standings, 0.77 sec behind the winner.

Last season’s World Cup winner Petra Vlhova of Slovakia was eliminated in the first run.

In the general classification for the World Cup Mikaela Shiffrin leads with 1,156 points six races before the end of the season, ahead of Petra Vlhova with 1,039 points and Federica Brignone (Italy) with 931 points.

In the ranking for the small crystal globe, Sara Hector leads with 522 points. She has a 55-point lead over Tessa Worley (465) and Mikaela Shiffrin is third with 411 points.

The next starts of the season are the giant slalom and slalom in Ore (Sweden) next weekend.
