Russia’s anthem will not be performed if Russian athletes win competitions under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), said the headquarters’ press service.
“The national flags of Russia and Belarus must not be flown and the anthems must not be performed at events organized by FIG until further notice. All competitions from the World Cup and Challenge tournaments planned to be held in Russia and Belarus have been canceled”, says the statement from FIG.
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) yesterday called on the national sports federations not to use the flags of Russia and Belarus in all international competitions.
The President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova is disappointed with the decision of the International Gymnastics Federation.
