Hannah Neise, 21, of Germany, won the women’s Olympic skeleton title in Beijing 2022 Games after finishing first with a time of 4:07.62 min. Thus, Hannah Neise increased German dominance in the skeleton.
The silver and bronze went to Jaclyn Narracott (Australia) and Kimberley Bos (Netherlands).
The young Hannah Neise drove very confidently in the final and last run, made no real mistakes, entered smoothly and confidently in the corners. She has been participating in the Pro Tour for seven years but can boast only two major awards – last year’s world title in girls and a silver medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 2016.
She started quite poorly, her start time was only 15th, but gradually showed confidence in the chute and increased her lead from 0.11 sec to 0.40 sec, and finally won by 0.62 sec. The second place went to the Australian representative Jaclyn Narracott, whose time was 4:08.24 min. The third position is for Kimberley Bos from the Netherlands, who remained at 0.84 sec behind the winner.
For Australia, the medal is the first in the history of gutter sports, so the 31-year-old Jaclyn Narracott will surely be remembered.
The Canadian athlete Mirela Rahneva remained in 5th place, after at one point she even led in the standings. Mirela Rahneva has a time of 4:09.15 min, ahead of the other German – far more successful and experienced Tina Hermann.
