The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team won the women’s 4x5km relay in cross-country skiing at the Beijing 2022 Games in a very thought race. All the teams were exchanging the leading position several times during the race and the final winner came in the very last post.
“This is a special day”, said Veronika Stepanova of the Russian Olympic Committee team, which won the 4x5km women’s cross-country skiing relay at the Beijing 2022 Games. “It was very difficult because we won the World Cup and many people said that now we have to win. That’s why I said to myself, we need a good result”, added she.
The silver went to the Germans, who exceeded their expectations.
“I have no words. It’s amazing”, said Victoria Carl, and her teammate Katharina Hennig added: “The race was a real thriller. I was very excited when the other girls competed. The feeling at the end was extraordinary”.
“The emotion is great. Maybe it will take me a while to realize what we did”, said Sofie Krehl.
