The Olympic medalists of the Republic of Korea and Japan also recorded victories. The silver medalist from four years ago defeated the Republic of Korea over the Russian Olympic Committee with 9:5.
Japan, the bronze medalist from the PyeongChang 2018, beat Denmark by 8:7 in a dramatic match after Satsuki Fujisawa scored three points with the last stone to solidify the victory. The teams play nine games each against each other, and the first four qualify for the semifinals next week.
