Many fighters make changes in their team when things don’t go as they expected. But that’s not why former two-time champion Amanda Nunes has left her American Top Team.
“In fact, I’ve always wanted to build my own gym. I never wanted to do it to compete with the American Top Team”, said Amanda Nunes.
Many fans speculated that Amanda Nunes left because of her loss to Julianna Pena or to arrange a match with Kayla Harrison. However, none of these versions turn out to be true.
“I’ve always wanted to have a place of my own. Even in the American Top Team you do my things separately. I had my time to go, I had my coaches there waiting for me and training in the training camps. It’s always been so”, said Amanda Nunes. “I wanted to have my own place to put my logo and all the other things that fighters start wanting at some point in their careers. I felt that this was the moment for me”, added she.
Amanda Nunes is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist. She competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where she is the current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion and a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Her personal MMA record is 21-5-0 (W-L-D).
