American Olympic bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor has announced that her quarantine will soon end and she will continue preparations for the Beijing 2022 Olympics. She was under quarantine after a positive coronavirus test she gave days ago.
Elana Meyers Taylor told that she would be out of solitary confinement in hours and would move to another hotel to resume training.
Due to her positive test for COVID-19, the American failed to be the flag bearer of the US delegation during the opening ceremony of the Games. The first training for women in bobsleigh is on February 10, and the competitions start three days later.
“Fortunately, my friends have been sending me notes of their impressions of the Olympics so far, and I have tons of videos from coaches doing their best to keep up with what’s going on”, said Elana Meyers Taylor.
She is the only American to have three Olympic medals in bobsleigh – two silver and one bronze. She also had 4 gold medals from world championships.
