Italy beat complete outsider Australia with 7:3 and remained the only undefeated team in the mixed doubles curling tournament in Beijing 2022 Olympics, while Sweden recorded two easy successes and is now in second place in the preliminary stage.
Italians Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner beat Australia with 7:3 in just seven ends and recorded their fifth consecutive victory at the Olympics. Thus, they lead in the standings with a balance of 5-0 before their match of the evening program against the world champions from Great Britain.
The Swedes Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson needed only six ends for the final 6:2 against the Canadians Rachel Homan and John Morris in the lunch program. In the morning they did the same against the Swiss Jenny Perret and Martin Rios and won by 6:1, which took second place in the standings with a balance of 5-2.
Third with 5-4 is the mixed couple Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds from Great Britain, who today won 8:3 against the Czech couple Zuzana Paulova and Tomas Paul.
