Patricia Mamona is a Portuguese triple jumper of Angolan descent. She won the gold medal at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam 2016, as well as the gold at the European Indoor Championships in Torun 2021. She also won the silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, setting a national record of 15.01 m.
Patricia Mamona was born on November 21, 1988, in Sao Jorge de Arroios, Lisbon, Portugal. She started practicing long jump and triple jump at an early age and showed her great talent. She took part in the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, China, but finished 4th. However, she won the bronze medals at the 2006 Lusophony Games in Macau, PR China, in the long jump and the triple jump.
Patricia Mamona is a European Outdoor triple jump champion in 2016 Amsterdam and silver medalist in the 2012 Helsinki, as well as European Indoor triple jump champion in 2021 Torun and silver medalist in 2017 Belgrade.
In 2021, she won medals at two Diamond League events – silver at Mueller Grand Prix Gateshead and bronze at Herculis Monaco.
Definitely, her biggest achievement was winning the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the triple jump. She also took part in the Rio 2016 Olympics but finished 6th.
