The best Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur will not play tennis until the end of 2024. Her season ended prematurely due to an ongoing shoulder injury. Ons Jabeur is a three-time Grand Slam finalist.
The 30-year-old tennis player dropped to world’s number 22nd in the WTA rankings after missing some major tournaments, such as Cincinnati, Washington and the US Open, as well as missing out on the Paris Olympics.
“This year has been extremely difficult for me, but this recovery is part of the sport”, wrote Ons Jabeur on social media. “Due to my shoulder problems, me and my medical team made the difficult decision to give up racing for the rest of the season”, added the Tunisian tennis player.
Ons Jabeur has won five singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as eleven singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. She was the runner-up at Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023 and at the US Open in 2022, becoming the first African and Arab woman to contest a major singles final.
