Paris 2024 Olympic 100m hurdles bronze medalist and Tokyo 2021 champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has revealed the reason she pulled out of the Silesia Diamond League in Poland at the last minute. She suffered a calf injury.
“Unfortunately I had to withdraw during the warm-up due to a calf problem. I couldn’t give it my all and I didn’t want to risk anything. The season is not over, but we need to take more care. I have to listen to my body. See you in Zurich”, said Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.
In her absence, the victory in Poland went to Jamaican athlete Ackera Nuigent with a meeting record of 12.29 sec. Grace Stark (USA) earned the silver with 12.31 sec, while the bronze went to Danielle Williams (Jamaica) with 12.37 sec.
Paris 2024 Olympics champion Masai Russell (USA) was fourth with 12.40 sec.
