Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the second round of the US Open

The 2017 finalist Madison Keys, who is 14th-seeded, eliminated Czech Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:1) and will face the qualifier Maya Joint (Australia) in the next round. The Australian defeated Laura Siegemund (Germany) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:5).

The 8th-seeded Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) eliminated the Spanish qualifier Marina Bassols Ribera after 2-0 (7:6, 6:2). The quarter-finalist from 2021 will play against Elena-Gabriela Ruse (Romania). The Romanian, who passed through the qualifications, defeated the Austrian Julia Grabher by 2-0 (6:2, 6:4).
