The European Games bronze medalist Cathelijn Peeters (Netherlands) won the 400m hurdles gold at the 63rd Ostrava Golden Spike. The Dutch athlete triumphed in the prestigious tournament, clocking at 54.31 sec, which is her personal best in the event.
Cathelijn Peeters, who is World and European champion in the 4x400m relay, showed excellent form before the Rome European Athletics Championships from June 7-12, overtaking by half a second the British hurdler Lina Nielsen, who finished in 54.81 sec.
The bronze in the event went to Nikoleta Jichova (Czech Republic), who clocked at 55.20 sec.
The Top 5 in women’s 400m hurdles was completed by Linda Olivieri (Italy) and Paulien Couckuyt (Czech Republic), while Viivi Lehikoinen (Finland) remained 6th.
In Women’s 1,500m, the Irish athletes dominated the track, as Ciara Mageean earned the gold with 4:01.98 min and Sarah Healy remained with the silver with 4:02.12 min. The bronze went to Revee Walcott-Nolan (UK), clocking at 4:02.42 min.
