Sara Sorribes Tormo qualified for the third round of the WTA 250 Morocco Open

The third-seeded Sara Sorribes Tormo (Spain) qualified for the third round of the WTA 250 Morocco Open in Rabat, defeating Nadia Podoroska (Argentina) by 2-1 (7:5, 3:6, 6:3). The match lasted almost three hours and cost a low of power for the Spanish tennis player, before winning it.

The match started with exchange of breaks by both players after which Nadia Podoroska was leading by 3:1. However, Sara Sorribes Tormo returned another break to equalize to 3:3 and the game continue to be game for game. However, the Spanish tennis player recorded another break in the 12th game to close the set by 7:5, although quite hesitantly.

The second set started with an early break for Nadia Podoroska, who lead by 2:0 and after another break for 5:2 served for the set. However, Sara Sorribes Tormo returned the break and stayed in the match, but the Argentinian player succeeded to break again and won the set by 6:3.

Sara Sorribes Tormo made an early break in the third set, which allowed her to lead by 2:0, but Nadia Podoroska equalized quickly to 2:2. However, in the longest game of the match, the Spanish player made another break for 4:3 and at 5:3 achieved another break to close the set by 6:3 and the match at 2-1.

The 7th-seeded Elisabetta Cocciaretto (Italy) had a quite easier task to qualify for the third round against Zhuoxuan Bai (China), winning by 2-0 (6:4, 6:2).
