Sloane Stephens (USA) won the title in the first edition of the WTA 250 Open de Rouen clay tennis tournament with a prize money of 232,244 EUR.
The sixth-seeded Sloane Stephens defeated Magda Linette (Poland) in the final by 2-1 (6:1, 2:6, 6:2) in 2:10 hours. She made six breaks in the match, lost her serve four times and reached success with her sixth match point.
The American tennis player, who became champion of the US Open in 2017, takes her first trophy since the one in Guadalajara in February 2022.
Former world’s number three Sloane Stephens claimed her fourth win in four matches against Magda Linette and her eighth career title overall.
On the route to the final, the American tennis played eliminated the second-seeded About Caroline Garcia (France), the fourth-seeded Yue Yuan (China) and the former world’s number one Karolina Pliskova.
