Karolina Muchova, who reached the final of the French Open last season, underwent surgery on her right wrist. The Czech tennis player has been off the court since September 2023, but is still ranked tenth in the WTA due to her strong performance last season.
“Wrist upgrade: completed. Rehab challenge? Accepted”, posted Karolina Muchova in the social networks. “Following my injury at the US Open and an extensive rehabilitation phase, it turned out that a medical intervention was necessary. So here I am, tired and sad, but I know I’ll be okay now. The surgery was successful and I’m gonna do all I can to see you on the court again soon”, added she.
Karolina Muchova, the second-ranked Czech behind reigning Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, has not been in action for over five months.
The Czech tennis player reached the semi-finals of the 2023 US Open, but lost to Cori Coco Gauff, who then triumphed with the title in New York. After the match she announced that continuing wrist injury halted her schedule.
