Olympic champion Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (France) triumphed in the women’s 12.5km mass start on the final day of the Biathlon World Championships in the Czech winter center Nove Mesto.
Justine Braisaz-Bouchet covered the course in 34:37.2 min and did not make a mistake in the four shootings. Her result meant France won three of four gold medals in the women’s individual events after the Roosters triumphed in the women’s relay and both medley relays.
Lisa Vittozzi (Italy), the only one to break France’s women’s dominance and take the world title in the 15km individual race, came second, 31.2 sec back also in a clean shoot, while the bronze also went to France thanks to Lou Jeanmonnot. She finished 56.7 sec behind the winner with one missed target.
Julia Simon, who took gold in the sprint and the pursuit, missed three targets in the shooting range and finished in fourth place.
France will end the World Cup at the top of the medals table with six gold, one silver and five bronze medals so far.
