World 400m hurdles champion Femke Bol started the year with an impressive result in the indoor 400m. The world record holder in this indoor discipline won a race in Metz with 49.69 sec. This is also the best result in the world for the season.

About an hour after her victory in the 400m, Femke Bol achieved a personal best and a new record for the Netherlands in the indoor 200m – 22.64 sec.
Femke Bol is a Dutch track and field athlete who competes in hurdling and sprinting. She specializes in the 400ms hurdles, where she is the 2023 World Champion, and in the 400m, where she is the indoor world record holder. In the 4x400m relay, she is the 2023 World Champion with the Dutch women’s team.
Femke Bol holds the world record in the indoor 400m with a time of 49.26 sec, set on February 19, 2023, the European record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.45 sec, making her the second-fastest woman of all time in the event, and five Dutch records in individual events and relays. She also has world best performances in the 300m hurdles and 500m indoor.
