The fourth-seeded Cori Coco Gauff (USA) eliminated Magdalena Frech (Poland) in a match of the Round of 16 at the Australian Open. The American prevailed by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2) in just over an hour of play at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Cori Coco Gauff started with an early break and never lost the initiative for a moment. She won her opponent’s serve twice more in the first set, and in the second part there was intrigue only at the beginning, after which the reigning US Open champion broke in the fifth game and finally broke her opponent’s resistance.

The 19-year-old American is the youngest quarter-finalist in Melbourne since Agnieszka Radwanska did it in 2008.
