Agnes Jebet Ngetich (Kenya) broke the 10km world record in the Spanish city of Valencia, knocking 28 sec off the previous best. The Kenyan long-distance runner became the first woman to run the distance under 29 minutes.
She stopped the clocks in 28:46 min, bettering Yalemzerf Yehualaw’s previous mixed road race record from two years ago.

The 22-year-old 2023 World Cross Country Team Champion previously set the women’s 10km record in September with a time of 29:24.
