The Finish cross-country skier Kerttu Niskanen won the 10km classic cross-country skiing race of the Tour de Ski in the Italian center of Toblach, valid for the World Cup. She topped everyone in the classic event, finishing with a time of 25:48.0 min.
In second place was Victoria Carl (Germany), who made a very strong finish and finished 6.7 sec behind the winner.
American Jessie Diggins finished third in 25:58.7, just over 10 sec behind Kerttu Niskanen.
The top five is completed by the American Rosie Brennan and the German Katharina Hennig, and the former almost got on the podium.
In the general classification for the World Cup, the American Jessie Diggins leads with 849 points, the second is Emma Ribom (Sweden) with 782 points, and the third position is the American Rosie Brennan with 730 points.
In the ranking of distance races, Ebba Andersson (Sweden) leads with 588 points, ahead of Jessie Diggins with 561, and in third place is Rosie Brennan with 521.
