Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (France) completed a hat-trick of victories at the Biathlon World Cup events in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. After triumphing in the sprint on Thursday, and being the fastest in the pursuit on Saturday, today Justine Braisaz-Bouchet congratulated herself with success in the mass start at 12.5km. She did not make a single mistake in the shooting and covered the distance in 36:04.6 min, which allowed her to come out on top in the general classification for the World Cup.

Elvira Oeberg and Hanna Oeberg were second and third. The two Swedish sisters each finished with two shooting fouls, both coming in their first two visits to the range.

Elvira Oeberg finished 5.5 sec behind Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, while Hanna Oeberg was 10.6 sec behind.

Lisa Vittozzi (Italy) finished fourth without a mistake in the shooting. However, she was 29.1 sec behind the winner in the run.

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (Norway), who started the race as the leader in the general standings, finished fifth. Two shooting errors cost a passive of 29.7 sec. The sixth position was for Julia Simon. The French biathlete missed three rounds and was 43.1 sec behind her teammate Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.

In the World Cup standings, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet leads with a total of 427 points. Second with 417 points is Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, and Elvira Oeberg is third with 393 points, seven ahead of the fourth Lisa Vittozzi. The classification in the mass start coincides with today’s arrangement, as it was the first start of the season in this discipline.

Later today is the men’s 15km mass start and the next World Cup starts are in early January in Oberhof, Germany.
