Amanda Fassold is an American track and field athlete, who competes in the pole vault. She is an NCAA Indoor champion and a two-time First-team All-America. She has a personal best of 4.55m.
Amanda Fassold was born on July 21, 2000, in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. She started in athletics as a kid and competed in different disciplines, before specializing in the pole vault.
Amanda Fassold started her competitive career in 2015, competing at the Nampa Jackson’s Open in 60m, but finished 8th.
In 2018, she competed at the Pullman WSU Open Indoor in 60m and pole vault. After achieving better results in pole vaults she specialized in this event. Amanda Fassold earned the pole vault bronze at the Golden Mines Alumni Classic and competed at the Colorado Springs UCCS Invite. She qualified for the 2018 Oregon 6A State meet in the long jump, 200m, and 4x400m relay, and placed ninth in the long jump.
Amanda Fassold started the 2019 indoor season at the Dr Martin Luther King Jr Collegiate Invitational and Colorado Invitational, competing in the pole vault, but missed the medals by a while. However, she earned the gold at the Air Force Holiday Meet and the silver at the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi in pole vault. During the outdoor season, Amanda Fassold earned the gold at the Azusa Pacific Twilight & Multi, silver at the Stumptown Twilight, as well as the bronze at the Chris Rinne Twilight, Titan Twilight Open, and Oxy Invitational.
In 2020, Amanda Fassold started fantastic the indoor season, earning the pole vault gold at the Samford Open, Bulldog Invite, and Bearcat Open. The outdoor season was hampered by the coronavirus pandemic and shortened, but at the end of the year, she succeeded in winning the gold at the WSTC Christmas Vault.
In 2021, Amanda Fassold earned the pole vault gold at the WSTC New Years Vault, Battle for So Cal, Team 4 Ely Invitational, Azusa Pacific (APU) Invite, Bryan Clay Invitational, as well as the PacWest Championships. She also competed at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships but failed to record a successful attempt.
Amanda Fassold earned the pole vault silver at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships in 2022, setting a personal best of 4.55m. She competed also at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships but finished only 13th after a quite disappointing result. Meanwhile, she earned the gold at the Razorback Invitational, John McDonnell Invitational, LSU Invitational, and Southeastern Conference Championships, as well as the bronze at the Texas Relays, Pacific Coast Invitational, and Mt SAC Relays.
In 2023, Amanda Fassold continued with her great performance, earning the pole vault gold at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, but failed to record a successful attempt at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships. Meanwhile, she earned the gold at the SEC Indoor Championships, New Mexico Collegiate Classic, LSU Invitational, and SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as well as the silver at the Arkansas Twilight and the bronze at the John McDonnell Invitational.
