The top-seeded Jessica Pegula (USA) won the title at the hard court tennis tournament WTA 250 Korea Open in Seoul with a prize pool of 259,303 USD. In the final, the American defeated Yue Yuan (China) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) in 83 minutes and won her second trophy of the season and her career fourth overall.
Jessica Pegula had no problems in the match, making two breaks in the first set, saving to break point, as well as four breaks in the second set, against two breaks for her opponent.
The top-seeded Jessica Pegula gave just one set to her opponents on the week to become the first American since Venus Williams in 2007 to win the title in Seoul. After lifting the trophy in Montreal in the summer, the American can boast of multiple titles in one season for the first time in her career.
Jessica Pegula is world’s No 4 and already qualified for the WTA Finals tournament in Cancun from October 29 to November 5.
