Linda Fruhvirtova qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Ningbo Open

Czech tennis talent Linda Fruhvirtova qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Ningbo Open with a prize pool of 259,303 USD. The Czech player defeated the fourth-seeded Anna Blinkova (Russia) by 2-1 (6:3, 3:6, 6:1) in 2:15 hours of play.

The match started equally with both players winning their serve game, but the nerves of the 18-years-old Linda Fruhvirtova were stronger and she waited for her chance in the 8th game to make a break and this proved to be enough to win the first set by 6:3.

In the second set, things were not much different, but for Anna Blinkova, who needed just one break in the 6th game to take a lead and close the set at 6:3.

In the third set, bot players started by winning their first serve games, when Linda Fruhvirtova took the initiative and won the next 5 games in a row to close the set at 6:1 and win the match.

In the quarter-finals, she will face the 8th-seeded Lucia Bronzetti (Italy), who eliminated Kateryna Baindl (Ukraine) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:3).

Nadia Podoroska (Argentina) also advanced to the quarter-finals after eliminating Valeria Savinykh (Russia) by 2-1 (4:6, 6:0, 6:2) and will face Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic), who defeated Sorana Cirstea (Romania) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5).

The Russian teenager Diana Shnaider also advanced in the tournament after winning the Round of 16 match versus her compatriot Kamilla Rakhimova by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2).
