Aryna Sabalenka officially topped the WTA rankings after overtaking Iga Swiatek. The US Open runner-up came out on top after last year’s champion Iga Swiatek was eliminated in the Round of 16 and failed to defend her points
Thus, after 75 weeks as world’s number one, the Polish tennis player gave the throne and Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) topped the ranking with an asset of 8,266 points. Iga Swiatek slipped to second place with 8,195 points, while the US Open 2023 champion Cori Coco Gauff advanced three places to her record No 3 with an asset of 6,165 points.
Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) is fourth with 5,755 points, and Jessica Pegula (USA) dropped from 3rd to 5th position with 5,755 points.
Top rankings were also achieved by Czech tennis players Marketa Vondrousova, who is No 6 with 3,830 points, and Karolina Muchova, who climbed to 8th place with an asset of 3,765 points. Among them is Ons Jabeur (Tunisia), who fell by two positions and as of today is 7th with 3,771 points on her account. The top 10 are completed by Maria Sakkari (Greece) with 3,525 and Caroline Garcia with 3,050 points.
