Ethiopian athlete Letesenbet Gidey, who won silver at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, won the 5,000m in 14:08.79 min. Letesenbet Gidey now owns three of the four fastest times in 5,000m history, trailing only world record holder Faith Kipyegon with 14:05.20 min from earlier this year.
The Kenyan athlete Winnie Jemutai and Edinah Jebitok won the silver and the bronze in 5,000m, respectively.
Two-time 100m hurdles world champion Danielle Williams won her crowning event with 12.71 sec (0.5m/s). The Australian athlete Michelle Jenneke remained second with 12.89 sec, while Amber Hughes ((USA) remained third with 12.98 sec.
Henriette Jaeger (Norway) earned the gold in 400m, taking the distance for 51.03 sec, while Julia Niederberger (Switzerland) won the silver and Alica Schmidt (Germany) remained with the bronze. The big favorite in the event Shaunae Miller-Uibo (Bahamas) did not finished.
In the 100m, Jenna Prandini (USA) earned the gold with 11.24 sec, while Rani Rosius (Belgium) and Jonielle Smith (Jamaica) remained with silver and bronze, respectively.
