The Eugene 2022 world champion Bin Feng won the discus throw gold at her home Xiamen Diamond League, triumphing with a meeting record of 67.41m achieved in the last 6th attempt.
The silver medal went to the two-time Olympic and world champion and a record six-time European champion Sandra Perkovic (Croatia) with 67.32m. She was leading until the last attempt, but the strong throw of Bin Feng changed the standings.
The bronze medal was for Laulauga Tausaga (United States), who was far behind the leaders with 64.31m.
The Top 5 at the Xiamen Diamond League was completed by Izabela da Silva (Brazil) and Liliana Ca (Portugal) with 62.40m and 62.21m, respectively.
Bin Feng is a Chinese track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. She represented her country at the Rio 2016 Olympics, finishing eighth in the final. Her personal best is 69.12m (226 ft 9+1⁄4 in), set in 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships to win the world title. In 2023, she earned the bronze at the Budapest World Athletics Championships.
