Budapest 2023 100m and 4x100m world champion and 200m bronze medalist Sha’Carri Richardson continued her successful series at the Zurich Diamond League. The American sprinter won the 100m gold with 10.88 sec (-0.2 m/sec).
A photo finish decided second place in favor of Natasha Morrison (Jamaica, who finished with 11.00s. The third position with the same result was taken by the Tokyo 2020 Olympics champion in 100m and 200m Elaine Thompson-Herah (Jamaica).
The Top 5 in the 100m sprint was completed by Mujinga Kambundji (Switzerland) and Shashalee Forbes (Jamaica)
In the women’s 400m, which was not part of the diamond events today, Olympic gold medalist Shaunae Miller-Uibo won the gold with 51.83 sec. She became a mother less than half a year ago. The Swiss athletes Annina Fahr and Julia Niederberger completed the Top 3.
Meanwhile, Shericka Jackson (Jamaica) earned the gold at the 200m with 21.82 sec, followed by Daryll Neita (UK) and Kayla White (USA).
In the 4x100m relay, the Netherlands team, consisted of N’Ketia Seed, Marije van Hunenstijn, Jamile Samuel, and Tasa Jiya, earned the gold with 42.86 sec. The silver went to the Swiss team of Nathacha Kouni, Salome Kora, Geraldine Frey, and Melissa Gutschmidt, who finished in 42.94 sec. Australia remained with the bronze.
