Modesta Juste Morauskaite is a Lithuanian sprinter, who specializes in the 400m and 400m hurdles. She is a six-time National champion and three-time National Indoor champion. Her personal best in 400m is 50.49 sec outdoor and 51.63 sec indoor.
Modesta Juste Morauskaite was born on October 2, 1995, in Vilnius, Lithuania. She started in athletics already as a kid and proved her skills in several local championships.
Modesta Juste Morauskaite started her competitive career in 2010, winning the gold at the Voru Baltic U16 Match and Vilnius Junior Meeting.
In 2011, she competed at the Lille IAAF World Youth Championships in 400m, but did not reach the finals. However in the same event, during the season, she won the gold at the 11th European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon, Turkey, as well as the bronze at the Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships.
During the next seasons, Modesta Juste Morauskaite dominated the local athletics championships in 400m, winning the gold at the Alytus Lithuanian Junior Championships, Kaunas Lithuanian Club Championships, and Kaunas Lithuanian Indoor Championships in 2012, as well as Kaunas Lithuanian Club Championships and Mannheim Bauhaus Junioren-Gala in 2013. In 2013, she competed at the Rieti European Junior Championships but remained 8th in the final. However, during the season, she won the gold at the European Athletics Team Championships Second League in 4x400m and the silver in 4x100m.
In 2014, Modesta Juste Morauskaite competed at the Zürich European Championships and Eugene IAAF World Junior Championships, but in both failed to reach the final in 400m. Meanwhile, she won the gold at the European Athletics Team Championships First League in Tallinn in 4x400m, as well as the gold at the Vilnius Lithuanian Indoor Club Championships and Kaunas Lithuanian Club Championships in 400m.
In 2015, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won the 200m silver and 400m bronze at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships, as well as 400m bronze, 4x400m relay, and 4x100m relay gold at the Valmiera President’s Cup. She also competed at the Tallinn European U23 Championships but remained out of the final.
Modesta Juste Morauskaite continue being one f the top 400m sprinters in her country in 2016. She won the silver medals at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships and Vilnius Lithuanian U20 Championships in 400m. She also earned the bronze medals at the Mersin ECCC Group A and Castellon Spanish Club Championships in the 4x400m relay.
In 2017, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won silver medals at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships in 200m and 400m, as well as again silver at the Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships in 400m. She also competed at the Spanish Indoor Club Championships, winning gold medals in 4x400m and silver in 4x100m and 400m. Her biggest achievements during the season were in 4x400m, winning the gold at the Barcelona Spanish Championships and bronze at the European Athletics Team Championships Second League in Tel Aviv.
In 2018, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won the gold at the Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships and the silver at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships in 400m. She won her most prestigious title at the IAAF World Indoor Tour’s Madrid Indoor Meeting in 400m. During the season, she also won the silver at Getafe Spanish Championships in 4x100m and the gold at 4x400m, but also competed at the Berlin European Athletics Championships.
Modesta Juste Morauskaite won the 2019 national title at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships, as well as the silver at the Sandnes European Athletics Team Championships First League.
In 2020, she won the gold at the Ogre Baltic Team Championships in 400m and 4x400m relay, while at the national championships won the 400m gold at the Lithuanian Indoor Championships and the 400m silver and 400m hurdles gold at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships.
Modesta Juste Morauskaite started the 2021 season strongly, as during the indoor competition she won the 60m bronze at the Lithuanian Indoor Championships and the 400m gold at the Campeonato de Espana de Clubes. She also competed at the Torun European Athletics Indoor Championships but did not qualify for the final. During the outdoor season, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won the silver at the Meeting Jaen Paraiso Interior in 400m, while in 4x400m she won the silver at the Spanish Club Championships and the gold at the European Athletics Team Championships Second League in Stara Zagora. However, she made her biggest achievement during the season in 400m hurdles, winning the gold at the Lithuanian Championships, European Athletics Team Championships Second League in Stara Zagora, and SK Cosma Summer Cup, as well as the silver at the Spanish Club Championships.
In 2022, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won the gold at the Siauliai Lithuanian Championships in 200m, but her biggest achievements were in 400m, winning the gold at the prestigious 4th Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz as well as the silver medals at the Meeting Iberoamericano in Huelva, Liga Iberdrola de Clubes, and World Indoor Tour Madrid 2022. She also competed at the Eugene World Athletics Championships, Munich European Athletics Championships, and Beograd World Athletics Indoor Championships, but did not qualify for the finals.
In 2023, Modesta Juste Morauskaite won her 6th national title at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships in 400m. She also earned the silver at the P-T-S meeting 2023 and European Athletics Team Championships Second Division in Chorzow.
