Bulgarian tennis player Viktoriya Tomova qualified for the second round of the WTA 1000 China Open tennis tournament in Beijing with prize money of nearly 9 million EUR.

Viktoriya Tomova, who is 51st in the world ranking, eliminated Lesia Tsurenko (Ukraine) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3) in 86 minutes of play.

The Bulgarian tennis player took a 3:0 lead on her way to victory in the first set, in which she broke three times and lost serve twice. In the second set after 3:3, she took three games in a row and closed the match with her second match point.
