The women’s 400m hurdles big favorites cruised through the heats

The big favorites for the women’s 400m hurdles honors at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene cruised through the heats. The European record holder and Olympic bronze medalist Femke Bol, who won her series with 53.90 seconds, qualified with the first result.

World record holder and Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin (USA) was only slightly slower and also won her heat in 53.95 seconds. The Tokyo 202 Games runner-up and former world record holder in the event Dalilah Muhammad (USA) produced the third-strongest result in the first heats as she also claimed her heat in 54.45 seconds.

All four Americans advance to the semifinals. Britton Wilson won the fifth heat in 54.54 seconds and Shamier Little finished second in her heat in 54.77 seconds.

The women’s 400m hurdles semifinals at on Wednesday, July 20th at 9:15pm and 9:45pm, while the final is on Friday, July 22nd at 10:50pm.
