The US women’s volleyball team got a clear success by 3-0 (25:11, 25:20, 25:19) against the Dominican Republic in the quarter-final match of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Andrea Drews scored 21 points for the US volleyball players, while Michelle Bartsch-Hackley scored 12 points.

Brayelin Martinez scored 16 points in favor of the Dominican Republic, and Prisilla Rivera added 7 more points.

The Americans will play against Serbia or Italy in the semifinals in Tokyo.

Injured ace spiker Jordan Thompson, who sprained her ankle on Saturday, came back on the bench but was not brought on as a substitute.

“I felt confident coming in this match because of our team”, said Andrea Drews. “I think a big focus on our side is staying disciplined with the plans that we make”, added she when asked about the plan for the next stage on Friday.
