Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce part ways with her coach Reynaldo Walcott

Five-time 100m world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (Jamaica) has decided to part ways with her coach Reynaldo Walcott after four years of working together. After a series of injuries, the Jamaican athlete has decided to move forward without her former mentor.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, 37, began working with Reynaldo Walcott in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under his guidance, she improved her 100m personal best from 10.70 sec to 10.60 sec. In 2022, she became the first woman to run seven under 10.70 sec in a season, winning her fifth world title in Eugene.

These successes were followed by a series of injuries. Last year Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished third at the World Championships in Budapest.

At the Paris Olympics this summer, the Jamaican sprinter withdrew from the 100m semi-finals.
