Olivia Gadecki eliminated Sloane Stephens at the start of the WTA 500 Guadalajara Open

However, Olivia Gadecki broke again for 6:4 and closed the set in 44 minutes.

The second set started better for Sloane Stephens, who broke early for 3:1, but since then Olivia Gadecki won five games in a row, including two breaks, to close the set at 6:3 and win the match.

The next opponent of Olivia Gadecki at the WTA 500 Guadalajara Open will be the second-seeded Danielle Collins.

In the other matches from the day, Kamilla Rakhimova (Russia) defeated Aleksandra Krunic (Serbia) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:0) and in the next round will face the third-seeded Victoria Azarenka (Belarus).

Renata Zarazua (Mexico) also advanced to the second round after defeating Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) by 2-1 (6:1, 3:6, 6:1), as well as Camila Osorio (Colombia), who eliminated Hailey Baptiste (USA) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:2).

Earlier in the day, Sara Sorribes Tormo (Spain) won her match versus Anna Blinkova (Russia) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4), while Eva Lys (Germany) defeated Lesia Tsurenko (Ukraine) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5) and Clara Burel (France) eliminated Marina Bassols (Spain) after 2-0 (6:2, 6:2).

Diane Parry (France) also advanced ahead after defeating Chiraz Bechri (Switzerland) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:0), while Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (Great Britain) eliminated Alycia Parks (USA) after 2-1 (6:3, 5:7, 6:3) and Mai Hontama (Japan) won her match versus Priska Madelyn Nugroho (Indonesia) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:1).
