Manchester City stays in the battle for a champion of FA WSL after a visitor win versus Tottenham. The team of Gareth Taylor won by 3-0 and thus got the important 3 points to keep them following Chelsea on the top of the FA WSL standings.
Manchester City started the match with aggression and pressure. The first goal came already in the 5th minute after Tottenham’s goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer made a mistake and scored an own-goal. However, the visitors continue their pressure and in the 38th minute, Janine Beckie scored for 0-2 after the assistance of Samantha Mewis. The first half ended with the total dominance of Manchester City and a result of only 0-2.
The second half started a little bit better for Tottenham, but Caroline Weir stopped their impetus in the 61st minute after scoring the third goal for Manchester City after the assistance of Chloe Kelly. Both teams played the rest minutes at a slower pace with several unsuccessful goal attempts.
After the win, Manchester City remained in the battle for winning the FA WSL after keeping the distance from the leader Chelsea of only 2 pts.
