Macy Chiasson won her fight versus Marion Reneau at UFC Vegas 22 fight night. However, despite the unanimous decision, the win came quite hard.
Macy Chiasson used her height and took advantage, using her kicks to create space. Marion Reneau was happy to answer back with a low kick while looking for a way in on the taller girl. She went high with a kick, then low with a second to the opposite side. Both were exchanging hits and kicks but without takedowns.
Macy Chiasson came out for the second round and rocked Marion Reneau, bloodying her nose in the process with a left hand. Both then engaged in a clinch battle, with Chiasson having the edge as they pushed one another back and forth across the octagon. Marion Reneau was under heavy fire, though she clipped Macy Chiasson herself, and finished the round with a much-needed takedown — though it would not be enough to steal the frame.
Round three started with Marion Reneau immediately pursue a takedown, which Macy Chiasson was able to fight off. Macy Chiasson dragged Macy Chiasson down with a really big takedown. Macy Chiasson, however, would land a takedown of her own not long after, planting Reneau on her back. Macy Chiasson would finish the round there, and it likely secured her the fight.
The scorecard was unanimous, but quite hard: (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
