Katie Boulter defended her title at the WTA 250 Rothesay Open

Last year’s champion Katie Boulter (Great Britain) defended her title at the WTA 250 Rothesay Open tennis tournament in Nottingham (Great Britain). The trophy is the third WTA title for the British tennis player.

Third-seeded Katie Boulter recorded two impressive wins today. She first successfully completed her semi-final clash against compatriot Emma Raducanu, which was suspended after the first set last night due to slippery ground.

Katie Boulter prevailed over Emma Raducanu by 2-1 (6:7, 6:3, 6:4) and the match lasted three hours and 37 minutes in total.

In the final hours later, Katie Boulter beat the 2016 champion and sixth-seeded Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) again after a comeback by 2-1 (4:6, 6:3, 6:2) in an hour and 56 minutes of play.

The British tennis player led by 2:0 and 4:2 in the match, but Karolina Pliskova equalized and ended the set with a series of four successful games. Two breaks were enough for Katie Boulter to win the second set by 6:3, and in the third she pulled away 5:1 to hold off Karolina Pliskova to triumph in Nottingham.
