Lisa Vittozzi is an Italian biathlete. She competes in the Biathlon World Cup and has three World Cup individual victories. Lisa Vittozzi has won a bronze medal at the Biathlon World Championships 2015 in Kontiolahti in 4x6km relay. At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics she won the bronze medal in the Mixed relay.
Lisa Vittozzi was born on February 4, 1995, in Pieve di Cadore, Italy. She started in skiing from an early age. Either being interested in Alpine skiing, she preferred to move to biathlon. She won her first medal at the 2013 World Youth Biathlon Championships in Obertilliach, on January 25, 2013, finishing second in the Sprint race in the Youth category. In the pursuit race she commits 3 mistakes at the shooting and ends the race in 5th position. At the 2014 European Biathlon Championships held in Nove Mesto na Morave, in the Junior category, Lisa Vittozzi won the Bronze in the Individual competition, with 3 errors at the shooting range. In the 2014 edition of the Biathlon Youth World Championships, held in Presque Isle (USA), Lisa Vittozzi won two golds in the Youth category at the age of 19: the first in the Sprint race, the second in the Pursuit. In the Individual competition, which ended with two errors, one in the second and one in the third series, she brought home second place.
Lisa Vittozzi made her debut in the World Cup on December 6, 2014, in the sprint in Oestersund (38th), while her debut at the World Championships took place in the world championship in Kontiolahti 2015, winning the bronze medal in the relay and finishing 60th in the sprint and 41st in the pursuit. She finished her first season in the World Cup as the sixth most accurate athlete on the top circuit with 88% of targets hit and in 66th position in the overall standings.
During the next years, Lisa Vittozzi is permanently present in the Italian Biathlon A team. In the 2015-2016 season, at the Hochfilzen stage, the second of the season, she achieved her first World Cup victory, as well as her first podium, on December 13, 2015, in the Hochfilzen relay, together with Dorothea Wierer, Karin Oberhofer, and Federica Sanfilippo. In Ruhpolding, in January 2016, she won third place in the relay together with Dorothea Wierer, Karin Oberhofer, and Alexia Runggaldier.
In Kontiolahti, the penultimate stage of the 2017 Biathlon World Cup circuit, Lisa Vittozzi conquered her first individual podium in the World Cup in the Pursuit race, finishing 3rd.
At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, Lisa Vittozzi made her Olympic debut. She won the bronze medal in the medley relay and finished 6th in the sprint, 11th in the pursuit, 32nd in the individual, and 4th in the mass start.
In the 2018-2019 season, she obtained his first individual victory in the sprint in Oberhof, Germany. In the same location, two days later, she also won the pursuit, the first Italian biathlete to win in this specialty. She became the second Italian biathlete to score two consecutive successes in World Cup. With the silver conquered in the individual of the Oestersund 2019 World Cup she also conquers the specialty Cup.
In 2020, Lisa Vittozzi took the silver in the mixed relay at the Antholz-Anterselva World Championships.
In the 2020–2021 season, she won only one bronze from the Kontiolahti mixed relay.
Lisa Vittozzi won her third world Cup victory in 2023 at the 15km individual start in Ruhpolding.
