Her outdoor season kicked off triumphantly with a gold at the Rieti Italian U20 Championships and Saronno Pole Vault Challenge. Maria-Roberta Gherca’s impressive performances continued as she competed at the Boras European U20 Championships and Bressanone Italian Championships, finishing 6th and 7th, respectively.

In 2020, Maria-Roberta Gherca continued to make a mark in the pole vaulting scene with a bronze at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and a 4th place finish at the Padova Italian Championships. Her victories included gold at the Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships and Grosseto Italian U23 Championships, along with a silver at the Ancona National Indoor Meeting and the 31st Meeting International di Atletia leggera sport soudarieta in Lignano Sabbiadoro.

Despite a challenging 2021 indoor season, Maria-Roberta Gherca surged back in the outdoor season, claiming gold at the Rieti Regional Championships, Roma Regional U23 Championships, and Agropoli Italian Club Championships. Notably, she also secured a bronze at the XXIV Meeting Internazionale Città di Nembro in Nembro and Barletta Pole Vault in Piazza. Her competitive spirit led her to the Tallinn European Athletics U23 Championships, where she reached the finals, showcasing remarkable talent.

In 2022, Maria-Roberta Gherca once again proved her prowess, earning the bronze at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and dominating the outdoor season with pole vault gold medals at the Firenze Indoor Jumping Meeting, Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships, and Firenze Indoor Jumping Meeting. Her outstanding performances continued with a gold at the Rieti Trofeo Perseo and a silver at the Rieti Invitational Pole Vault Meeting and Rieti Regional Club Championships.

In 2023, Maria-Roberta Gherca’s determination shone through as she claimed bronze at the Tampere Indoor Meeting, Kalamata Street Pole Vault, and the Grifone Meeting in Grosseto. Her success culminated in a gold at the Huizingen BMW Louyet Meeting, showcasing her exceptional outdoor best at 4.34m and indoor best of 4.27m. Maria-Roberta Gherca’s journey is a testament to unwavering determination and relentless pursuit of excellence in pole vaulting.

Maria-Roberta Gherca started the 2024 season by winning the gold at the Meeting Nazionale Indoor Assoluti 4° Manifestazione in Ancona, Meeting Assoluti Indoor 10° Manifestazione in Ancona, and Parma Meeting Assoluto, improving her personal best to 4.40m. She earned the silver at the Stabhochsprung Stars 2024 in Frauenfeld (Switzerland) with 4.38m and finished 4th at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. At the Míting Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona, Maria-Roberta Gherca earned the silver, while at the Grifone Meeting in Asti, she won the bronze. She covered a new personal best at the 35. Mednarodni miting Novo mesto, clearing 4.41m, while at the La Spezia Italian Championships won the bronze.
