Elena Curtoni is an Italian World Cup alpine ski racer, specializing mostly in the downhill and Super-G. She has a total of 12 World Cup podiums, including three World Cup wins, and was second for the Super-G small crystal globe in 2022.
Elena Curtoni was born on February 3, 1991, in Morbegno, Sondrio, Lombardy, Italy. She started skiing at an early age and proved her skills at the junior championships. Elena Curtoni was a gold medalist at the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana, as well as a bronze medalist at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Elena Curtoni had her first World Cup podium in 2016 when she finished 3rd at the downhill event at Saint Moritz, Switzerland. In the next season, she finished third at the Super-G in Val d’Isere, France, and 2nd in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
She did not perform so well in the next two seasons, but in 2020 won her first gold at the downhill in Bansko, Bulgaria.
In 2021, she won another medal in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, finishing third at the downhill race.
Elena Curtoni made a real breakthrough in 2022. She finished second in the overall Super-G standings (after her compatriot Federica Brignone) after winning the gold in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, silver at Saint Moritz, Switzerland, and bronze at Val d’Isere, France.
In 2023, Elena Curtoni even improved her performance with 4 podiums so far, including two in the downhill – gold in Saint Moritz, Switzerland, and bronze in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, as well as two silver medals in the Super-G in Kvitfjell, Norway and Saint Moritz, Switzerland. Elena Curtoni is the current leader for the Super-G mall crystal globe for 2023.
